Crane Pose is known as Bakasana in Sanskrit. It is simply powerful arm balancing yoga posture, which is considered as the first poses' to master in the category of arm balancing yoga asana. Crane Pose is considered a base pose as different variations of Crane Pose, which can be derived from this pose.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

At first make a squat position while maintaining equal distance between both the knees and keep the feet flat on the ground. After that place the palms in between the knees and flat on the ground while maintaining the knees and elbows at the same level.

Step 2

Then bend the torso forward while lifting both of the legs up so that the whole body can maintain a balance on the palms and while being in this position, maintain a straight gaze so that body balances in a proper way.

Step 3

Finally return to the original position and then slowly bring the feet down on the ground and go back into Tadasana posture.

IMPORTANT

  • While practicing Bakasana it is very important to keep the neck straight to avoid strains and sprains

  • People who are suffering from any kind of neck problem like Spondylitis should practice this yoga posture under the guidance of a trained yoga expert

  • Pregnant Women and people suffering fro Carpal Tunnel Syndrome should also not practice this yoga asana.
